On Christmas day, Amazon put the entire book for Slave on free download. So I downloaded it without even reading the description for the book. So I went into this completely blind and I was pleasently shocked! What a great book. It is a good cross between a romance novel and a sci-fi novel (my two favs!) The plot line for Slave was somewhat predictable but had enough twist and turns to make it interesting. One of the more endearing features was Captain Jack’s love for old Earth expressions. The author does a wonderful job of working those in, explaining why she knows them, and showing everyone else’s exasperations at not knowing what Jack is saying. All in all, it was a great read. Since I kind of regretted reaching the end, I will more than likely will continue on with the series. |
